Why Spiritual CEO’s, Magical Pros, and all business owners needs clear policies.
Spiritual, esoteric, and wellness pros should have Terms,
Conditions, and Policies in place to protect themselves and their businesses BEFORE they're actually needed-like having protective talismans, spells, and entities around before there's anything you need protection from.
A mistake | see biz owners make is the assumption that the crazy Karen's, entitled customers, and straight scammers won't come out way.
It's guaranteed to happen. Those of us raised hearing "the customer is always right," can find it hard to stand up for ourselves.
Having rescheduling, refund, shipping, privacy policies and solid contracts aren't just to let customers or clients know what's
up. They're there for biz owners to stick to their word no matter what-and makes sure if we bend our rules it's be we CHOSE to-not pressured to.
A coaching program client of mine has been rescheduling with me too much, to the point where each time we meet we have to start over because so much time has passed. They rescheduled bc they had a trip, or forgot what date, etc. While coaching, they weren’t really doing the homework or work during session that they needed to do.
I've rescheduled a few times bc I was sick (prob with COVID) or dealing with chronic pain. I texted this client directly (something I don't usually do but they're a relative of a GREAT friend and client), and we both mutually agreed to not be feeling coaching.
Instead I offered that their remaining balance be put towards redeeming any session now or in the future in my menu. They agreed to this happily!
The day before the full this client texted me they wanted a refund and could really use the cash. You know what I said?
6 actually have a no refund policy."
I've had this policy for the entire duration of my career, from my start doing tarot live streams to now doing coaching and consulting. So when they got upset, claimed I scammed /quit on them, and called me 7 times at 7pm, I was able to cite my policies, put my foot down.
If I didn't have my set policy and system of "no refunds, but redeemable credit," I might have felt AWFUL and caved. I might have believed I was scamming and that I quit. I might have agonized and found ways to make the refund happen. Luckily, I could back myself up and strengthen my self defense by citing my policies, blocking their number, and telling them to email me whenever they want to redeem their balance.
I, like most people atm, am living paycheck to paycheck. Honestly, doing the refund would've made me unable to pay some bills. My policies help protect me, my biz, and my livelihood where I would be so vulnerable if I didn't.

No matter what industry biz owners are at risk to deal with customers and situations like this. Or someone telling their card company you never did the work so they can get the money back. The policies, record of notes, and record of agreements are our safety net.
Especially as a psychic I already know mediums and healers are seen as scammers; so, I have been EXTRA careful to prevent any situation where what I do can be misrepresented be someone is salty that they don't pay attention to what they can and can't afford when they spend.
⚡️One of the first things I ask my clients in coaching or mediumship sessions is: “How do you protect your business?”
😮💨Y’all when I tell you how I wanna die when most people ask “WDYM?” OR when the only protection they have is spiritual and energetic.
⚔️ All the sigils, crystal grids, spell candles, etc. are great to protect yourself from energies unseen that can fuck with the bag…BUT that’s only half the work.
🔮As Above, So Below also means: as in the As In Practice, So In Policy. We might be dealing with the ether, but our businesses are in their own liminal space being both magical and mundane.
🤟🏼Reminder to customers: many of us are a 1-2 person show/team. We have lives, bills, bodies.
🍄One big positive of being in wellness and spirituality professions, is that many of our clients/customers/audiences understand divine timing and moving with energies as they move. This includes the energies of our bodies, bank accounts, and people we work with.
🕯️One less fun part is not all understand this, and treat us like we’re giant corporations with teams of lawyers, accountants, etc.
